Elite Forces: Clone Wars - spawn and command!

I clearly remember that evening before the new year 2010 when I read Badim's post bout flash game development and monetization. There he told about JohnnyK's successful cannon series and about his own achievements. As I learnt later, reading of this post became the starting point for many Russian-speaking flash developers.

Among other statements there was a link to Badim's game Elite Forces: Clone Wars, which, he claimed, was made in less than 14 hours. I visited the link and didn't stop until I finished the last level.

This is the strategy game where your aim is (unexpected, eh?) to conquer the enemy's base. The players have the barracks which constantly produce clones. Selecting a barrack and clicking on another one will send 50% of its residents to attack or reinforce, depending on whose the second barrack was. When the opposing forces meet, they both take damage, that equals the number of the soldiers in the smaller one. This formula is valid for both field fighting and barracks storming.

There are several neutral barracks on the map. Try to conquer them, too, this will significantly increase your manpower. But it is often useful not to attack them as the game started, but to wait for the opponent to help you weaken their defenses, and then only send your troops. To make a massive strike, you can select multiple barracks by pushing and dragging the mouse on the screen, or select them all by pressing Space.

Two types of special buildings can help you in your conquering mission. Factories give your soldiers a speed boost, but these buildings can only defend. And if you conquer a control centre and fill it with the soldiers to the maximum capacity (100), you'll win the game without conquering the enemy base.

Planning you strategy keep in mind that each barrack has its maximum capacity, having reached which it will stop producing soldiers. So, don't hesitate to attack when you have a possibility.

Elite Forces: Clone Wars was the first strategy with such a mechanics I played. By the way, it was a source of inspiration for Massagames, the creator of the King of Rocks strategy. To the modern standards of flash game industry the graphics are a bit pale, but this doesn't distract from the gameplay. By the way, the secret of making this game within 14 hours is that the graphics were taken by Badim from his previous Elite Forces series games. So, during these 14 hours he was occupied entirely with coding.
